WATCH THE ROAD AND FESTIVAL SITES. Watch for desert tortoise while on access roads and the festival site. If a desert tortoise is in the road and blocking your path, please stop a safe distance away and notify a biological monitor. DO NOT APPROACH OR TOUCH THE TORTOISE; DO NOTE PROCEED UNTIL A BIOLOGICAL MONITOR HAS ARRIVED; ASSESSED THE SITUATION; AND GIVEN THE GO AHEAD. If a desert tortoise is near the road but there is no threat to the tortoise, please notify a biological monitor of the location so it can be monitored but travel may continue.
NEVER APPROACH; HARASS; TOUCH; OR HANDLE A DESERT TORTOISE.
CHECK UNDER EQUIPMENT: Always look under equipment and vehicles for desert tortoises or other wildlife before you move equipment. If a desert tortoise is present, notify a biological monitor and he will remove it.
