Back around 500 BC, when science, philosophy, and spirituality were essentially the same thing, the ancient Greeks were very careful to distinguish between “Phusis” and “Techne.” Phusis loosely translates to “nature” or “from the Universe” and Techne loosely means “from man.” The word Physics derives from Phusis and the word Technology finds its root in Techne. Keeping in this Spirit, we have two speakers series happening from 12 noon to 3pm on Saturday and Sunday. The Saturday Phusis talks focus on science and nature, while the Sunday Techne talks focus on new technology, art, and media.
On Friday at 8:00pm to 10:00pm all of the key developers of the technology and art demos will be there to present their works. The demonstration area will be open throughout the day (11am to 12 midnight). Experts will also be available throughout the day for one-on-one or group conversations in our conversations area. We have invited experts in Artificial Intelligence, Consciousness, Nature, Robotics, Virtual Reality, and Entrepreneurship.
