Scott Hansen, otherwise known as the electronic musician Tycho, is famed for his sonic landscapes deftly weaving serene melodies and ambient rhythms, crafting swirling tracks that conjure dreamy vignettes of the California landscape. In addition to being a world-renowned performer, Hansen is also known to the design world as ISO50, an accomplished artist whose aesthetic mirrors the lush textured output of his music.
Hansen first began releasing music over 10 years ago with The Science of Patterns EP, followed by his first LP, Sunrise Projector in 2004. In 2006, Hansen released the seminal Past is Prologue album, after which he signed to Ghostly International. Having established himself as an artist to watch by the electronic community, Hansen began more experimentation with live instrumentation and formed a band, adding guitarist and bassist Zac Brown, drummer Rory O'Connor, and bass guitarist/keyboard player Joe Davancen. The live act proved popular on the festival circuit with their fluid hybridization of electronic synthwork and live instrumentation. In 2011 Tycho released Dive, Hansen’s debut LP for Ghostly. The LP was followed by 2014’s ‘Awake’, Tycho’s 2nd LP for Ghostly, released to much critical acclaim and further cementing Tycho’s status as a celebrated musician.
